David is one of the leading bridge professionals in the UK, with numerous successes in domestic and international tournaments.  Over the last 25 years, he has represented England and Britain at both Junior and Open levels of competition.

As a Junior, David represented Great Britain in three European Championships, and has subsequently represented England at the World Team Olympiad (2004), the European Team Championships (2012and 2014) and the Bermuda Bowl (2013).

His achievements as a player include winning a whole range of domestic events – Britain’s most prestigious tournament, the Gold Cup (five times), Crockfords (twice), the Spring Foursomes and the Lederer Memorial Trophy (three times).

David is a WBF World International Master, and his International successes include a bronze medal in the European Open Teams (2005), a 6th place finish in the 2006 World Open Pairs (the highest placing by an English pair in over 50 years) and a silver medal in the European Team Championships (2014).

2011 saw David win the NEC Cup in Japan before going on to achieve perhaps his finest result thus far when he finished as runner-up in the Vanderbilt, one of the most prestigious team events in USA.  David is a frequent visitor to the North American Bridge Championships and has recorded numerous top ten finishes in major US pairs events including winning the Silodor Open Pairs in 2013.

Aside from representing England as a player, David has also coached the England Open Team (they finished 4th in the 2000 World Teams Olympiad) and he currently manages the England U26 Squad.

David is also an accomplished teacher, and has taught thousands of students over the last ten years.  He has extended his teaching material by developing a series of tutorial bridge apps for the iphone and ipad.  There are now several additions available as part of a ‘betterbridge’ series.
